Your Guide to Registration

Click on the link below that best describes what type of student you will be from September to access the correct Registration Guide for you. The guide will explain exactly how you should complete the 5 steps to register as a University of Aberdeen student:

Postgraduate

• Taught Master’s programmes on-campus - students who will take most of their classes on King's College Campus, Foresterhill Campus, or both.
• Taught Masters by Distance Learning - students following a course which is designed to provide teaching off-campus.
• Postgraduate Research On-campus - students who will undertake most of their research on King's College Campus, Foresterhill Campus, or both.
• Postgraduate Research Off-campus - students who have received prior permission to undertake their research off-campus.
• Validated/Accredited Postgraduate Programmes - students based at an institution which has had its programmes approved by the University of Aberdeen.

Visiting Students

• Incoming ERASMUS Exchange.
• International Study Abroad and Exchange Programme.
• Associate Students and Trainees.
• Independent Subject Study - students who will register for a small number of individual courses and pay the appropriate fee - Postgraduate.
• Registered Postgraduate Study (RPS) - students who will generally research a topic for a short period of time, but do not submit for examination or graduate with an award.

Centre for Lifelong Learning

Centre for Lifelong Learning Students are part-time students taking Centre for Lifelong Learning classes either on campus or by distance learning.

Returning Undergraduates

You will receive a letter confirming your readmission to the University, containing instructions for registration. If you have any queries regarding your readmission, please contact undergraduate@abdn.ac.uk.
