International Students

The International Student Advisers will provide you with practical information and advice on living in Scotland. This induction will include information on immigration and visas. The session will be held at 2.00pm on Thursday 2 February 2012 in room 051 in the MacRobert Building.

International Study Abroad and Exchange Programme Students

An induction session specifically for new International Study Abroad and Exchange students from North America, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan will be held on Saturday 28 January at 9.30am in KCG7 (King's College). The induction will cover a range of topics from academics to student life. This session is mandatory for all International Study Abroad and Exchange students.

ERASMUS Students

ERASMUS students are invited to attend a special induction meeting with the Institutional ERASMUS Coordinator. The meeting will take place at 3.00 pm on Wdnesday 1 February in room 051 in the MacRobert Building.

Police Registration

Students (and dependants over the age of 16) from certain countries are required to register with the police within 7 days of their arrival. If you fall into this category, the requirement to register will be shown on your visa sticker or biometric ID card.

You will need to make an appointment with the Nationality Department at Grampian Police Headquarters in Aberdeen City Centre. You can do this either by telephoning 01224 306105 or by e-mailing NationalityOffice@grampian.pnn.police.uk.

You will need:

  • passport
  • biometric ID card (if you have this)
  • one recent passport-sized photograph
  • student ID card (if you have this) or Certificate of Acceptance from the University
  • confirmation of your address in Aberdeen (tenancy agreement, accommodation contract or invoice/bill with your address on)
  • and £34 registration fee.
