Ageing brain
A very successful line of research by Aberdeen scientists has been the study of the ageing brain; not a disease but a process of inevitable deterioration that we all must bear. A combination of brain imaging, genetic, molecular and pathological studies aim to provide a complete neurobiological description of the events that lead to the progressive failure of the brain with age. These studies will show how this decline may be slowed.
