The Institute of Mathematics in Aberdeen is a thriving centre of mathematical teaching and research. We offer a variety of courses at the Undergraduate level, and have a vibrant Postgraduate Research Programme, as well as a Postgraduate Taught Programme.
The Institute of Mathematics is one of the leading mathematical research establishments in the UK, having been ranked number 8 in the UK in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise. Every member of the institute is active in research. For more detail browse our Research pages.
The Institute of Mathematics has been accommodated in a new building since Spring 2009. It hosts the members of the Institute, as well as postgraduate students and research visitors from both the UK and abroad. The new building contains modern lecture facilities and plenty of room for informal meetings and discussion. There is also plenty of room in the new facility for our Honours students to meet and work.
