The department of music and the university Careers service offer a careers day for the music students.

In partnership with the careers service, the department of music presents a careers day for allmusic students. The event will include visits from Sam Jackson (Head of Classic FM) and AndrewMcNeill, a recent graduate and current PA to the CEO & Marketing Director at the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.

Event Programme:

  • 2-3pm: Creating a CV, careers in music and      interview technique (Regina Jäschke, Senior Careers Advisor)
  • 3-4pm: Individual mini practice interviews (Regina will manage a sign-up for students through the Careers system)
  • 4-5pm: Careers in music – presentations and Q&A with guest speakers Andrew McNeill (from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra) Sgt Tony Fuller (Corps of Army Music)
  • 5-6pm: Sam Jackson (Managing Editor and Head of Classic FM) - ‘Careers in Broadcast Media’
