Concert Band
The Aberdeen University Concert Band is a collection of brass, woodwind and percussion players of all levels that meets each week to rehearse and perform a vast repertoire of Concert Band Music. Our concerts range from holiday-themed performances to casual [and serious] concerts put on for the benefit for whoever wants to attend from the Aberdeen area. The Band is affiliated with the University of Aberdeen and is a student-run organisation with backing from both the Student Association and the University Music Department. However, membership is not limited to students only and anyone wanting to join the organisation should come along to a rehearsal. There are no auditions, so whether you are a student, pupil, professional or retired, please come along and join us - all are welcome. Rehearsals are on Tuesday nights at 7.15pm, in Johnston Hall.
We play all types of music suited to wind ensemble (which is quite a lot) - from Classical pieces to Jazz, Showtunes to Film Scores, Military Band to Big Band, and nearly everything else in between.
Please contact Katy Fleming for more information on joining - k.fleming.08@aberdeen.ac.uk.
