Medicine Open Day
The Medicine Open Day forms part of the annual Aberdeen University Open Day, which is usually held in late August/early September.
We are very pleased to welcome visitors to the Medicine Open Day which is held in part at Foresterhill. The Admissions presentation given on the day is now available for download .
The day is always much enjoyed, being considered to be a very useful part of researching a career in medicine by countless attendees from previous years.
The day is planned around giving you a feel for life as a medical student and a hint of how enormously satisfying a career in Medicine can be.
We also give you good advice about making an application for medicine and completing a UCAS form and take you through the Admissions selection process at Aberdeen.
The interactive sessions in the Clinical Skills Centre are always hugely popular. We give you an opportunity to try your hand at suturing, using basic examination equipment e.g to take blood pressures and examine ears using an auriscope. More advanced equipment, including "Harvey" and "SimMan" (cardiovascular and universal simulators) and key-hole surgery equipment is available for use.
You will also be able to participate in trauma and resuscitation scenarios …and much more! We look forward to seeing you!
