Medical and Dental Education

The Division brings together academic staff whose main role is in education and the administrative structure that supports the delivery of undergraduate education. Thus we are responsible for all undergraduate programmes within the School of Medicine and Dentistry.

The Division strives to provide the underpinning educational philosophy on which our educational programmes are based. Our programmes are informed by the requirements of the relevant regulatory bodies, by educational research, and by the ever changing demands of the workplace for which we prepare our graduates.

The Division provides the opportunity for academic staff to specialise in education and thus help to professionalise teaching. Thus educational research, development and innovation are core to our activities. However, the delivery of our degree programmes also depends critically on an efficient administrative network and the considerable input of academics from other Divisions and from NHS staff. We welcome enquiries from anyone interested in education.
