A Late Lunch with Clarissa

Date: 28 August 2000
Our ref: 708

The celebrity cook and University Rector Clarissa Dickson Wright will join forces with the broadcaster Edi Stark to bring cooking tips to hungry students during the University of Aberdeen’s Open Day on Tuesday, August 29, from 2:15 to 3:15 pm in the Arts Lecture Theatre, William Guild Building.

Clarissa and Edi, an Aberdeen English graduate, will cook up ideas about how to create nutritious – and delicious - meals on a shoestring budget.  The audience will have the opportunity to ask Clarissa questions about her cooking and recipes, and even sample the food!

Clarissa Dickson Wright said: “It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to cook nutritious food. I feel that the least I can do as Rector is help to ensure that my students are eating properly.”

A Late Lunch with Clarissa is part of an extensive and varied programme of events for the University Open Day (www.abdn.ac.uk/openday) on August 29th when potential students, and interested parents and teachers are invited to come and experience university life first-hand.

A Late Lunch with Clarissa is also open to the public.  Tickets are available free of charge in person from the Public Relations Office at the University (01224 272014) on Monday, August 28 or at the door.
