About

We want to give our medical and dental students the opportunity to be the best that they can be.

We help with this by providing a wide variety of services for each student (including personalised timetables and feedback) through to highly innovative ways of experiencing content. We also help support health care experts and of course the general public.

This has included our involvement with Royal Colleges, NHS and NES, and charities including DWH, UNICEF and WHO.

Medicine

Our medical students visit the MyMBChB website to access their latest lectures, personalised timetables, exam feedback, e-Learning and a variety of other web based services.

Medicine

A new website has been developed which is available to all Year 1 and Year 2 MBChB students. It includes features such as lecture notes, personalised timetables, exam feedback, e-Learning and a variety of other web based services.
Dentistry

The Medi-CAL Unit provides support for the University of Aberdeen's new Dental School, which welcomed its first students in 2008. The MyBDS website is a dedicated resource which provides lecture notes, learning materials, timetables and course-related announcements.
3D

3D comes in many forms but we have been developing a new system that can take both CT and MRI scans and render them as 3D images suitable for teaching within a matter of seconds. We are working in partnership with the Digital Learning Foundation as part of their Joint Medical Visualisation Project.

eLearning Framework

The e-learning framework (ELF) simplifies the way in which we can deliver our content. It follows a well tried layout and has a clear and crisp appearance for the user. In addition to delivering content (a variety of question formats, information, images, video, links etc.) we can also collect user data and our student's feedback.

Student Projects

Every year we have medical students working with us a part of their elective or humanities projects. We allow them freedom to explore ideas and concentrate on topics that fascinate them. The final version of the application that they create is often released for our students to use.
