Founded in 1495 by William Elphinstone, Bishop of Aberdeen and Chancellor of Scotland, Aberdeen is Scotland's third oldest university, and the fifth most ancient in the whole United Kingdom.
Much of the original King's College still stands today, a famous historic landmark beloved of generations of students, academics, and local people who are inspired by the finest examples of medieval and Renaissance craftwork remaining anywhere in Scotland.
From 10-12 May, the University will play host to the very first May Festival, allowing the public to experience the historically-rich campus in an entertaining and fun-filled environment.
Main venues for the Fesitval include the -
- May Festival Marquee, centred on King's Lawn
- May Tent, centred on King's Lawn (Bookshop and Cafe)
- King's College Conference Centre
- Elphinstone Hall
- King's College Chapel
- Arts Lecture Theatre
We will also be hosting events in the University's own botanical gardens, The Cruickshank Gardens, and at the Natural History Centre.
Please note on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12, free parking is available on campus.
