Knife sheath

This deer hide knife sheath, with its porcupine quill sewn bands and wrapped fringes, was most likely made for sale. The teardrop design is commonly seen on Cree work, suggesting that William Watt acquired it during the latter stages of his career, when he was based at posts that would have been visited by Cree families from the prairie region.
