Marischal Virtual Museum

The University's museum collections are the result of gifts by graduates, staff and friends of the University of Aberdeen since the 18th century. The museum collections are exceptionally varied, reflecting life from many times and places.

Originally opening in 1907 as the University's Anthropological Museum, Marischal Museum closed to the public in 2008. It now operates as a collection centre, including stores, conservation lab and study spaces, with most exhibitions now held in the Sir Duncan Rice Library and King's Museum in Old Aberdeen.

The Marischal Virtual Museum is a full record of views and captions of the museum galleries as they were in the early 2000s.
