An early start.

ID#880 and calfTuesday morning saw Tim, Rachael, Enrico and I up and out on the water early to try and catch the calm weather.  We were somewhat successful and had two encounters with small groups of dolphins before we recovered one of Enrico’s hydrophones at the Sutors. Then it was back to Cromarty for a change of crew to give our resident artists, Stephen and Mark, a practical idea of what we do.  Unfortunately, the wind had picked up, but we persevered and had a great encounter with about 10 dolphins near Fort George, despite the choppy conditions.  This included 3 mums and calves we hadn’t seen yet this year.  However, the trip back to Cromarty was interesting with water coming over the bow of the boat and all of us getting wet!
