SAAS Part-Time Fee Grant

Eligibility
To qualify for this funding, you must:
- have an individual income of £22,000 a year or less
- be studying part-time Higher Education course(s), Professional Development Award (PDA) or Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at levels 7-11 of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF)
- complete between 40-75 SCQF credits per year
- be studying at a Scottish Institution
- meet the residence conditions as set out in The Students' Allowances (Scotland) Regulations 2007
From 2012-13, new postgraduate students will not be eligible to apply for this support. Instead, you should visit the postgraduate section of the SAAS website to find out if you are eligible. Postgraduate students who commenced the first year of an approved course in 2011-12 will continue to receive the Part-time Fee Grant in 2012-2013 for the final year of their postgraduate qualification.
Applying
- download the appropriate form from the SAAS website
- send completed form to Fiona Findlater at the address below for endorsement
- your endorsed form will be returned to you unless you wish us to post your form directly to SAAS (include a stamped addressed envelope and all the relevant documentation)
- we will record the date your form is posted but we cannot be held responsible for your form once it has left the office
- Education related applications should be send to Kerry Boyne (details below)
Verifying your SAAS PTFG Award
- once your application has been approved by SAAS you will be sent an Award Notice
- follow the instructions on the Award Notice and send it to Fiona Findlater (details below)
- Education related Award Notices should be send to Kerry Boyne (details below)
Addional Information
- No fee adjustments will be made to your student account until you have submitted your Award Notice to either Fiona or Kerry as appropriate
- You will remain fully liable for your fees until your Award Notice is received by Fiona Findlater (Kerry Boyne for Education courses)
- If you fail to submit your Award Notice or submit it to the wrong Department the University will assume you are self funded and you will be invoiced for full amount of your fees
- If your form is not signed by an authorised signatory (Fiona Findlater or Kerry Boyne) your application may be rejected at a later stage
- You must submit your application form to SAAS within one month of the course starting otherwise they will reject your application
- SAAS approval can take 4-8 weeks and it is your responsibility to contact them if you do not hear from them
