Usually lasting twelve weeks, many courses are delivered through specially prepared course material and weekly or fortnightly tutorials.

Other courses follow the same format undertaken by full-time undergraduate students with lectures recorded and made available through the internet, allowing you to access them when it suits you. Course guides and additional learning materials are also accessed through the course website. Tutorials are held in the evenings or at weekends to suit those with work or family commitments.

Some courses, such as archaeology and a range of sciences, include a workshop or laboratory practical and these are usually held in Aberdeen over one or two weekends.

Students can take an individual courses or can study towards a Certificate, Diploma or Degree.

The University reserves the right to withdraw courses and programmes if they do not recruit a minimum number of students and subject to the availability of appropriately qualified tutors.
