October 2012

The highlight of the year has to be the formal opening and naming of the new library by Her Majesty the Queen. We are delighted that the library now has a name – The Sir Duncan Rice Library – and that it has received that wonderful Royal seal of approval. Nonetheless, we’ve been busy on a variety of things since the last issue, including the British Science Festival, making further improvements to the new building and to services (see in particular, the new eBooks, and reservations collections services), and in reaching out to wider audiences. Read two poems inspired by the building and watch a video farewell to QML.
