Reader Carrels for Users with Disabilities

The Reader Carrels on Floors 2, 3, 5 and 6 of the Sir Duncan Rice Library are reserved for use by users with disabilities – such as mobility, sight, or physical impairments.Reader carrel

Each carrel contains a height adjustable desk. The carrels are particularly useful for readers who:

  • may wish to limit the need to carry books and other equipment around during a visit to the library
  • who want to work with a note-taker or similar assistant or helper, or
  • may prefer not to work in open spaces.

Height adjustable desks are also available on the open areas on floors 1 to 7, and on the Lower Ground Floor.

Two PCs with enhanced software and height-adjustable tables are available on Floor 1 of the Medical Library. Priority access is given to disabled users.
