Arts on Film Archive
Offers on-line access to a large range of films on art produced in the United Kingdom since the 1950s, and is a unique record of British and international post-war art, as well as of documentary film-making in the UK. Many titles in the collection contain rare material about individual artists, while others offer definitive coverage of their subject. The archive is an invaluable primary research resource for a wide range of scholars in arts and humanities. Its films contain valuable source material for biographies, monographs, and many other forms of research in art history and documentary film-making.

This is the main UK gateway to art resources world-wide.

Artguide
A comprehensive internet guide to the art collections of Great Britain and Ireland organised by artist, by museum, and geographically.

Artcyclopedia
A fine art search engine. Links to a vast array of images. Quality of images and information dependent on the source found.

AICT
AICT is a free use image resource for the educational community. A selection of the images available can be viewed on the web. Collection sets required for educational purposes can be ordered free of charge.

Aimed specifically at new Art History students. Try to ignore the Wikipedia link.

A virtual art museum with a collection of images searchable by the artist's name, or by nationality or time frame.

National Galleries of Scotland

Royal Academy of Arts
Provides information about the Academy and details of current and past exhibitions.

Tate Galleries
The Tate Galleries house the national collection of British art from the sixteenth century to the present day, including the Turner Bequest, and the national collection of international modern art.

World-Wide Art Resources
Claims to be the biggest gateway to the Arts. Strong on galleries and exhibitions. Thousands of pictures if you've got the patience to wait for them to download.
