Books

French literature material is found on Floor 4 of The Sir Duncan Rice Library at shelfmark 840. Books on French language are found on Floor 5 at shelfmark 440.

Relevant material may also be stored at other locations, searching Primo is the best way to inspect, and where necessary retrieve, the full range of material available.

Ebrary
Electronic books on French Studies, language and literature can be accessed here. "Sign in" in order to be able to print up to 40 pages per book, save highlights and notes and store books on your personal bookshelf. Copying and pasting is possible.

Journals

Full details of all available journals, in both print and electronic format, can be found using Primo. Access to electronic content is restricted to staff and students. E-journals can also be browsed and accessed here.

Print only French journals are arranged alphabetically on Floor 2 of the Sir Duncan Rice Library, with the shelfmarks Per 440 for French language and Per 840 for French literature. Issues that are shelved in closed access stores can be requested via Primo. Many journals are available electronically, French Cultural Studies and the Journal of French Language Studies are two examples. Search for journals via the catalogue or via Primo. Browse them individually or use a database.

Gallica has hundreds of journals, with full-text articles, from the 19th century onwards. Mainly in French, it is fully searchable and covers all topics.

DVDs of French films are in the Heavy Demand Collection on Floor 1 of The Sir Duncan Rice Library. Their shelfmarks begin with DVD Fra. There is a Multimedia Room on Floor 1 of the Sir Duncan Rice Library with DVD players for viewing.
