Books

Most Education material is on Floor 6 of The Sir Duncan Rice Library at shelfmark 370, but areas such as Psychology, Philosphy and Language are on Floor 7. Please check Library Catalogue for full details of location or use our handy Quick Guide 

Search Primo for specific titles or topics.

Journals

Journals that have been specifically classified as being 'Education' still available in paper format only are shelved on Floor 2, at shelfmark Per 370. Remember paper journals that are actually classified as another subject but of interest to Education staff and students, such as Psychology journals or those to do with Language or Reading, may be found elsewhere on Floor 2. Issues that are shelved in closed access stores can be requested via the library catalogue.

Many Education journals are now available electronically, listed by title in Primo or through our online A-Z list - please note though, not every journal available electronically is on this A-Z list (for technical reasons dictated by the publishers!) but they are all in Primo as another subject but of interest to Education staff and students, such as Psychology journals or those to do with Language or Reading, may be found on the floors covering those subject areas. YOU MUST use Primo or the Library catalogue to find the location of a particular journal title.

The Times Education Supplement, Times Education Supplement (Scotland) and Times Higher Education are now available via LexisNexis (click on 'news') from 1999. 1994-1999 can be found on CD-ROM in the TRC and pre 1994 (back to 1910!) are available on microfilm at Microform Per 370 Tim in the Microform Room on Floor 1. Last six months of TES, TESS and THE are held on paper at Per 370 Tim Floor 2 of The Sir Duncan Rice Library.

The Teaching Resource Collection
The TRC on Floor 6 of The Sir Duncan Rice Library is our collection of materials of different formats for students to use in their preparation for School Experience. We have many resources from 'kits' of religious artifacts, to dual language books, colourful puppets for encouraing play and story telling, to Scientific materials such as 'working heart pumps' and inflatable solar systems! The materials have varying loan lengths and full details are in our library guide to the Teaching Resource Collection or queries can be directed to Pauline van der Laan, Floor 6 Office in The Sir Duncan Rice Library.
