Following a successful pilot during the 2012-13 academic year we are again making a selection of recently published e-books, in all subjects, available through the Dawsonera service in 2013-14. Records for these books may appear when you search for a topic in Primo. You will be able to select a 5 minute preview of a section of the book. At the end of 5-minutes if you opt to Continue reading the e-book will automatically be bought for the library. You will have access to the whole book. You can read the book online or can download to mobile devices for up to 2 days.
Search for your subject or a particular e-book title in Primo Aberdeen Collections
This will allow you to view a section of the book, usually the first 50 pages.
When the 5 minute period is up you may be given the option to Continue Reading. If you choose to continue reading the book will be automatically purchased for the Library. You will then have access to the whole book. You can continue to read online or you can download the title to your mobile device for up to 2 days.
There is an upper price limit for automatic purchase from Dawsonera. If you are not given the option to Continue Reading you can opt to Suggest for Purchase. The Suggest for Purchase option will give you an opportunity to add a comment to give the reasons why you want the e-book bought. Please add a comment, it may help library staff decide to buy the book.
