Any good lawyer must be able to construct an argument and then present and, where appropriate, defend it. That holds true whether you are in court, negotiating commercial transactions or simply rendering advice to a client. Mooting is all about the art of persuading. So we would argue that it is an essential part of any good law school career.

In a moot, two pairs of students argue a fictitious legal case in front of a judge. To win, you do not necessarily have to win the legal case, but must make the best presentation of your legal arguments. But don't worry, we teach you how to do all that.

So that's mooting. But we also pursue certain broader aims. We try to help our members to secure employment by organising talks, networking events and a number of ‘legal-themed' trips.
