Applying, application forms: The application procedure for taught degrees is explained in full on the web pages of the University's Student Recruitment and Admission Service. From there you will also be able to apply online or download an application form. Please read all of the instructions carefully before submitting your application and please pay special attention to the following information. The entire application and admissions process, from submitting your complete application to being cleared for admission and receiving your Certificate of Acceptance, or Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number, can take several weeks. For international students, applications for all postgraduate taught programmes beginning in September 2012 must be submitted by the end of June 2012. Applications from international students intending to begin a programme beginning in January 2013 should be submitted by the end of October 2012. These deadlines will be strictly adhered to by the School of Law. Applications must be complete by these deadlines. Any incomplete or late application will be considered for the next available intake. To avoid disappointment, you should ensure that your application is submitted with all required supporting documentation well in advance of the deadline. Please note this deadline is to try to ensure that students have sufficient time to complete the application process and then to apply for their visa, and to arrive in Aberdeen in time of the start of their programme. There is no formal programme deadline for those students classed as UK/EU for tuition fee purposes although we recommend that applications are submitted at least six weeks before the intended start date. Current University of Aberdeen students and recent graduates of the University of Aberdeen need only complete the application form and nominate two referees from within the University of Aberdeen. For all other applicants:
We require that applicants meet one of the following English Language standards: IELTS: 6.5 or above overall with 6.0 or above in writing; 5.5 or above in listening AND in reading AND in speaking TOEFL iBT: 90 or above overall with 21 or above in writing AND in listening; 22 or above in reading and 23 or above in speaking Pearson Test of Academic English: 62 or above overall with 54 or above in writing and 51 or above in listening AND reading AND speaking. If you have not achieved these scores, or wish to study English before starting your programme, details of English language courses offered by the University of Aberdeen can be found on the Language Centre's website. If you are applying to the CB Davidson Fund for financial support with your studies, then please send that application directly to the Registry Officer for the Degrees in Law: click here for the address and further details about the Fund.
