It provides financial support for graduates in law from outside the UK to study in Aberdeen and for students and graduates of the University of Aberdeen who wish to travel outside of the UK for research purposes. Awards, except in exceptional circumstances, will not exceed £2,500 and in most instances will be less. The closing dates for applications to the CB Davidson Fund are 31st March and 30th September each year. Further details and an application form are available here. Full details are on the central postgraduate funding website. For further information, including clarification of eligibility criteria, see the Carnegie Trust website. As regards other external sources, prospective students from overseas are also strongly encouraged to check the British Council website. The British Council does not fund taught postgraduate students directly, but does administer the Chevening Scholarships, which support outstanding graduates wishing to study in the UK. The British Council also administers the Scottish International Scholarship Programme, which is open to permanent residents of China, India, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand or Singapore who wish to study for a Masters degree in Scotland. You should note, however, that priority will be given to courses in science and technology and creative industries. The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan also offers some support to students from former and present Commonwealth countries.
