Aberdeen is served by an international airport and is easily reached by road or rail from other cities in the UK. Travel times from Edinburgh and Glasgow are in the region of 2½ to 3 hours, depending on traffic. Further travel information can be found here.
The University's King's College campus (see map) is situated about two miles to the north of the city centre, and is well connected by buses via King Street (single fare c. £1) or taxis (fare c. £5). King's College can be reached on foot from Union Street in around 30 - 35 minutes.
September weather is cool in Aberdeen (ave. 11 - 12° C), and although the climate is generally dry by UK standards, delegates are nonetheless advised to bring waterproof jackets and/or umbrellas as well as warm clothing. Strong walking shoes or boots are recommended for the Thursday castles and whisky trail excursion.
