Research Principles

The Population Ecology Research Group's work is a combination of descriptive and experimental empirical studies aimed at testing aspects of ecological theory, combined with collaborative work with theoreticians that updates and extends that theory. It has also initiated or extended a number of long term studies of population dynamics over exceptionally large spatial scales, and in this manner contributes to key empirical assets in ecology.
