Medical Imaging
Aims
The use of imaging techniques in medicine has been, and continues to be, an area of vast expansion. The specialities of this programme include the full range of medical imaging modalities, including Nuclear Medicine, Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Ultrasound, among others. The programme is supported by an extensive range of equipment, including a well-equipped Magnetic Resonance Centre and the Department's John Mallard Scottish PET Centre with its cyclotron and PET scanner.
The MSc programme has been designed to integrate with the UK NHS's grade-A medical physicist training scheme, and has been accredited for this purpose by the Institute of Physics & Engineering in Medicine.
