Funding for Novel Drugs to Treat Pain
Dr Iain Greig has been awarded funding for the development of cannabinoid allosteric enhancers for the treatment of inflammatory and neuropathic pain
Congratulations to Dr Iain Greig and Prof Ruth Ross on the award of $150,000 from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Proof of Principle Phase I scheme, to continue the commercial development of their novel CB1 allosteric enhancers, which have shown excellent potential in models for pain. Professor Ross recently moved to the University of Toronto to head the department of pharmacology; we hope this project will represent the first of a number of valuable collaborations between the two institutions.
