RSC Fluorine Group Meeting 2012
Best Poster Prize to Monica Piras for her poster on RGD peptides
Congratulations to Monica Piras, a KCT PhD student, on winning the prize for the best poster at the recent RSC Fluorine Group Meeting 2012 in St. Andrews. Monica presented on [18F]-Fluorodeoxyglucosylation of Aminooxy-functionalized RGD Peptides and Peptide Mimics for PET Imaging of Solid Tumours and Bone Pathologies. The project has received funding from the SULSA Chemistry Catalyst Fund. With co-workers Andrea Testa and Dr Ian Fleming, Monica recently received a generous donation from Richard Simcox to explore the therapeutic potential of small molecule RGD mimics for conjugation to cytotoxic agents.
