Applying from Overseas

The University is committed to recruiting and retaining the highest calibre of staff from an International recruitment market.

If you are not a British national or a national from the EEA (European Economic Area), you may require specific permission to work and live in the UK.  There are various ways in which permission can be granted and you should click on the link below for more information.

If you would require a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), (previously Work Permit) under the UK Border Agency (UKBA) Points-Based System (PBS) the University of Aberdeen  may apply for this on your behalf as an “A” rated UKBA Tier 2 Sponsor.  However, only certain vacancies are eligible for a CoS and you will be advised when applying if it is unlikely that permission to work would be granted by the UK Border Agency.

Please contact the HR Adviser named in the advert for the position you wish to apply for more information.

Please remember that the final decision as to whether you can live and work in the UK is made by the UK Border Agency.  On appointment, our HR Section will be able to help and give guidance about living in the Aberdeen area.
