Biography
I graduated from Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey in 2004 with a BSc in psychology. I received my Masters degree (MSc) in Social Psychology from Middle East Technical University (METU), Turkey. My thesis work was on “The association between organizational culture and individual factors on medical practice” supervised by Dr. Timo Lajunen. I also worked as a research assistant with Dr. Sibel Kazak Berumnet on the project of “Supporting the Cognitive, Language and Social Emotional Development of 0-6 Aged Children in Social Services and Child Protection Agencies”.
I received my PhD from the University of Aberdeen in 2011 under the supervision of Prof Rhona Flin and Dr. Kathryn Mearns. My PhD work was on "Safety climate in Scottish acute hospitals".
I am currently working as a Research Fellow with Prof. Rhona Flin at the University of Aberdeen on “Leadership behaviours of senior charge nurses”.
