There are a number of options available to students who come from countries where the high school curriculum does not currently allow direct entry to the first year of an Aberdeen undergraduate programme. The University has created a number of specially designed International Foundation Programmes which can help students to enter one of the oldest universities in the UK.
Successful completion of a pathway foundation programme allows students the opportunity to choose from a huge number of bachelor degree programmes at Aberdeen. Each of the custom designed pathways has an assigned academic mentor to help and guide students.
Unlike many foundation programmes in the UK the Aberdeen International Foundation Programmes are taught entirely by Aberdeen staff, and are structured in such a way as to offer transition to the second year of a huge number of Science and Engineering programmes! The International Foundation Year tuition fee will be £15,700 for entry in September 2013. This is based upon the standard University Science tuition fee with an International Foundation supplement to reflect the enhanced mentoring and academic support which will be provided.
