Scholarships

There are scholarships and grants for international students who wish to study in the UK. There is a lot of competition for a limited number of awards but it is worthwhile applying for the ones relevant to you. UKEAS Academic Elite Scholarship (for students from China)

In conjunction with our overseas agency in China, UKEAS, we are pleased to offer a £2000 merit-based scholarship open to students coming to us from China to undertake a masters programme commencing in September 2012.  Students must apply via this agency in order to be eligible for this award. Sir Thomas Sutherland Scholarships

Four undergraduate scholarships open to citizens of China or Hong Kong liable to overseas tuition rates with preference given, in the first instance, to applicants connected with HSBC (as employees or the descendants of those currently employed by HSBC).  The scholarships are for undergraduate study in any aspect of banking, finance, business or business-related studies, for entry in September 2012.

James Henry Scott Scholarship

Applications are invited for the James Henry Scott Scholarship, funded by The Swire Educational Trust.  The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and is open to candidates commencing a one year MSc in Environmental Science from the People’s Republic of China, or Hong Kong. The scholarship will cover International Postgraduate Tuition Fees for the 2012/13 academic year (£14,000) and will provide a maintenance award of £13,000. The recipient will also receive one economy airfare from their place of residence to the University of Aberdeen. The closing date for applications is 30th April 2012. Scotland's Saltire Scholarships

This exciting scholarship opportunity is open to Canadian, Chinese, Indian and US nationals. Awards worth £2000 each are available towards the cost of tuition fees for any one year of study, on an Undergraduate, Masters or PhD course at any of Scotland’s higher education institutions, for entry in September 2012.

There are 200 scholarships available, and they are now open to students at UG and PGR level; previously they were only open to PGT students. Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships are now live and open for applications on the Talent Scotland website: http://www.talentscotland.com/students/study/scholarships/Saltire-Scholarships.aspx 
Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships (SSS) is a substantial programme of scholarships, offered on a matched funding basis between the Government and Scottish Higher Education Institutions. The scheme offers up to 200 awards, each worth £2000.

The deadline for applications for the 2012/13 scholarships is 01 June 2012.
