Innovate with Aberdeen will feature a compelling mix of exhibits and a series of talks relevant to Health & Nutrition, Policy and Energy.
Talks

Each talk will last approximately 20 minutes (including Q&A time).
Exhibitions
12.45pm - 9.00pm, Elphinstone Hall, University of Aberdeen
A showcase of the University's pioneering research projects as well as highlighting new collaboration and commercial opportunities. There will be an opportunity to meet the exhibitors and to dicuss their projects throughout the afternoon and at the evening drinks reception.
Evening Keynote Session and Question Time
With Dr James Smith, Chairman Shell UK, and
Professor Alex Kemp from the University of Aberdeen
5.30pm, King's College Conference Centre, University of Aberdeen
Dr James Smith is Chairman of Shell UK. He has been with Shell since 1983 and has worked in all the Group’s major businesses. Dr Smith will discuss Shell's latest Energy scenarios, looking at the world in the next half century and linking the uncertainties we hold about the future to the decisions we must make today. Professor Kemp will discuss the many factors affecting the global oil and gas economy. There will be a Question and Answer session to follow and if you would like to submit a question in advance, please email innovate@abdn.ac.uk
Evening Drinks Reception and Networking
Elphinstone Hall, University of Aberdeen, King's College
From 6.45pm - 9.00pm
An evening drinks reception will be held immediately after the Keynote Seminar, hosted by Professor Dominic Houlihan. Visitors will have the opportunity to network with the exhibitors.
Theme overview
Health & Nutrition
This theme marks the formation of the University's Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health, highlighting the interactions between behaviour, nutrition and physiology. We will also feature the University's successes in imaging technologies and advances in personalised medicine.
Policy
The University is host to a wide range of research inputs into government policy. This theme includes advances in thinking around the topics of nutrition, education, health & wellbeing and the management of ecosystems.
Energy
The Energy theme spans energy-related research excellence of all three University Colleges and includes Subsea Instrumentation, Oil and Gas Law and the Future of Energy.
Refreshments will be served throughout the afternoon and at the evening reception.
