In order to investigate the core research methodologies, our aim has been to utilise the strengths within the virtual Institute of Translational Medicine and its associated research and clinical partners. These are as follows:
- Imaging - novel developments in, and application of, positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) by an established centre for imaging and biomedical physics
- Molecular Biology - using the Institute of Medical Science core facilities and expertise for genomics, proteomics and metabolomics.
- Applied Health Sciences methodology - available in the newly established Institute of Applied Health Sciences.
