September 2011 - Confocal microscope moves - Zeiss LSM710 now located in room 1.72 and the LSM510 Meta is in room 1.08
August 2011 - Microscopy and Imaging Facility and Histology and Electron Microscopy Facility merged to form new Microscopy and histology facility
July 2011 - We have moved office! We are now located in room 1.58
June 2011 - Microscopy and Histology Core Facility Meeting, 11am, 21st June 2011, Level 7 conference room, IMS
We are having a meeting which begins at 11am on 21st June 2011 which is open to all staff and students. All current facility users are strongly encouraged to attend. The programme can be seen below.

April 2011 - LSM700 confocal in room 1.08
The new confocal microscope is now fully installed in room 1.08. It has a 405nm, 488nm, 555nm and 639nm laser and a fully motorised stage with tile scan option. It will be available to use after the 4th May, so if you are interested in seeing this microscope and would like some training on it, then let us know.
February 2011 - EVOS XL microscope now in room 3.29

All in one microscope for phase contrast viewing of cells and also colour imaging of slides and cells. Contact facility staff for demo.
January 2010 - Recent purchase of Zeiss Apotome and Imager M2 fully motorised upright microscope in room 3.28.
Now with filter sets for DAPI, FITC, TRITC and Cy5
