Aberdeen Biomedical Imaging Centre
Welcome
Aberdeen has a long and distinguished history of imaging excellence and Aberdeen Biomedical Imaging Centre is committed to undertaking high quality hypothesis driven research in imaging.
The strong team of research scientists and clinical academics aim to develop new techniques, evaluate developing technologies in an attempt to further understand disease processes and improve diagnostic imaging technologies.
There has been considerable investment by the university and funding bodies to create an impressive imaging infrastructure with modern MRI facilities, PET/CT, cyclotron and radiochemistry laboratories and sophisticated ophthalmological equipment. A strong scientific team is dedicated to the creation of new imaging technologies such as PEDRI, Fast-Field Cycling MRI, ultra low field MRI and hand-held PET.
The Aberdeen Biomedical Imaging Centre collaborates with a very strong community of life scientists including Neurobiology and Cell and Developmental Biology, both nationally and internationally.
