The Institute of Medical Sciences at Aberdeen is home to Principal Investigators leading cutting edge molecular and cell biology research in a variety of fields. Principal Investigators work closely with their clinical colleagues and represent an international pooling of talent, with staff drawn from the UK, USA, New Zealand, China, Germany, Switzerland and The Netherlands. Current grant income is approximately £42m, raised from charities, government and UK research councils. Many young staff have established their careers at the IMS through prestigious fellowships awarded by The Royal Society, The Lister Institute, the MRC and a number of charitable organisations.
