The 2001 published paper CBCA Field Guide
The published paper CBCA Field Guide (Wagaarachchi et al., 2001) was based on an international collaborative research project, involving partners in Scotland, Ghana and Jamaica.
A criterion-based audit cycle to improve the quality of emergency obstetric care was set up and implemented in four district hospitals: Gaoso Hospital and Holy Family Hospital, Berekum, both in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana, and St Ann's Bay Hospital and Spanish Town Hospital in Jamaica.
The project would not have been possible without the support, commitment and hard work of all the staff at these four hospitals - too numerous to mention by name here. The project team would also like to acknowledge the members of expert panels in Scotland, Ghana and Jamaica who contributed to the development of the audit criteria. The strong support for the project received from the ministries of health in Ghana and Jamaica is also acknowledged.
The research project and the paper CBCA Field Guide were funded by the Department for International Development (DFID). However, DFID can accept no responsibility for any information provided or views expressed.
