From previous success outlining technological advancements in healthcare and the future potential of digital innovation, we are now ready to rethink and reshape exactly how to implement these digital technologies

Overview

Digital technologies are changing the rules of the game in the global healthcare landscape. Early this year the government launched its latest attempt to improve the use of technology in the NHS in England. A £4.2 billion investment, destined to encourage innovation and the uptake of digital technologies, promises to rethink and reshape how healthcare is delivered. Pioneering programmes are aiming to promote system interoperability and the sharing of data to support prevention strategies and patient centred care. In a challenging financial environment IT services could not only improve the quality of care through enhancing the patients’ experience of services, but also enable the NHS to realise efficiency benefits such as a reduced administrative burden, reduced hospital admissions and patient demand, and improved population health. The aim for the UK is to be recognised globally as the most attractive place to launch radically new ways of using data, information and digital technologies to deliver fundamentally different forms of care. However, the NHS has already experienced significant difficulties in realising the benefits of technology in the past. To become a digitally enabled health care provider the NHS have to rethink what work is done, re-engineer how it is done and capitalise on opportunities afforded by data to learn and adapt. Join us at DigiHealth UK: Transforming Healthcare Delivery for the opportunity to hear from those leading the national agenda, and discover key digital innovations that could transform the future of health services.
