Biography

Nicola joined the unit in October 2011 as a PhD student and is a member of the Aberdeen Health Psychology Group. She graduated with a BSc in Psychology from the University of Dundee in 2009, and gained an MSc in Health Services and Public Health Research from the University of Aberdeen in 2011. As part of the MSc qualification, Nicola conducted an illustrative review comparing the specification of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic healthcare interventions in published titles and abstracts. The review included an analysis of the specification of behaviour change interventions.

Nicola was awarded a four-year MRC doctoral training grant which commenced in October 2011. This award includes enrollment on the 2011-2015 Aberdeen Flagship Studentship Course, an enhanced personal and career development programme aiming to equip PhD students with strategic vision and leadership skills to enable rapid movement into a research leadership role.
