Biography
Ruth Thomas joined the Unit in 1993 as a research assistant after gaining a BSc in Health Sciences from the University of Aberdeen. She completed her PhD in the Unit in 2002 and went on to take up a Wellcome Trust Training Fellowship in Health Services Research which she completed in 2006. Ruth is a Health Services Researcher experienced in a range of HSR methods including systematic reviews, overviews, RCTs (simple and complex), and other evaluative designs. Ruth worked on a series of "knowledge translation" evaluations ie getting evidence into clinical practice, involving complex rigorous designs. She is currently the Research Manager for CHaRT and assists the Director in developing and designing high quality proposals for submission to national peer reviewed funding competitions.
