Biography
Margaret MacNeil joined the Unit in 1990 as secretary on the Postnatal Care Study. After taking time out to raise a family she returned to the unit in August 2006 as Data Co-ordinator/secretary on the ProLong Study; a study which looked at the relationship of pregnancy and delivery with incontinence and prolapse and was responsible for the day to day running of the study which included the mailing out of questionnaires, data entry, arranging clinic appointments for study participants and secretarial support to Professor Glazener. In addition to this she has assisted in other prolapse research studies and was one of the local screeners for the POPPY Trial which looked at the effects of physiotherapy for women with pelvic organ prolapse. She has also been involved in data entry for the UKUFF Study, a multi-centre randomised controlled trial measuring the clinical and cost effectiveness of different types of rotator cuff repairs.
She is currently working on PROSPECT, a new randomised controlled trial which will look at the use of mesh in prolapse surgery.
