Biography
Marion Campbell joined the Unit in 1993 and is now Unit Director with overarching responsibility for all Unit activities. Marion graduated with an honours degree in statistics from the University of Aberdeen and subsequently obtained an MSc and PhD. Following early career appointments within the health service in the fields of operational research and statistics of medical audit, she joined the Health Services Research Unit in 1993 as a statistician. Since then, Marion has fulfilled a number of roles within the Unit including senior statistician, programme director and deputy director, before becoming Director of the Unit in 2007. Marion's main research interests are in the methodology of evaluative research, especially the design, conduct and analysis of non-drug and other complex interventions. She has also published widely on cluster randomised trials.
