Research Interests

The overarching goal of Kirstys research is to develop multidisciplinary collaborative projects that advance our understanding of the expression of appetite and can be applied to combat disorders of appetite and body weight.  In order to achieve this goal it is important to take a holistic approach to address questions from the molecule to the clinical patient to determine how lifestyle interacts with biology to influence weight and or body composition.  The focus of this research is on developing a better description of phenotypic components of weight management disorders Through this we should then be able to develop better phenotypic descriptors, which will then enable us to develop more effective and tailored solutions.
