Biography

Graeme MacLennan graduated in Mathematics from the University of Aberdeen in 1997, after a year training as a Mathematics teacher he joined the Unit in September 1998 as a statistician. Since joining the Unit he gained an MSc in Applied Statistics in 2004 from Sheffield Hallam University. He is currently the Senior Statistician within the Unit and manages the statisticians and Unit statistics commitments.  He has experience of a variety of projects including large pragmatic randomised controlled trials (RCTs) (RECORD), cluster RCTs (ERUPT) and implementation research (PRIME). Current research interests are in the design and analysis of RCTs (including cluster randomised trials); quasi-experimental research methods (mostly interrupted time series designs) and meta-analytic techniques. He is deputy course co-ordinator and lecturer for the HSR module of the MSc in Public Health and Health Services Research.
