Biography
Dan joined the unit in June 2004 as a programmer shortly after attaining his degree in Computing Science at the University of Aberdeen. Since then, he has significantly contributed to the software based development of many trials, some of which include SIGNET, BALTI II, EAGLE, STITCH and UKUFF.
Dan has also been involved with the development of a telephone based solution aimed at providing an 'always-on' service to internal and external clients for the purpose of randomising new participants into trials. He is currently helping developing the next generation of the telephone randomisation service.
Projects outside the University that Dan has been involved with include the development of:
- E-commerce solutions
- Event management solutions
- Content Management Systems
- IIS Server administration
- Online booking solutions
- Custom solutions based on public web services
- Advanced user interaction via the extensive use of asynchronous communication and javascript frameworks to provide responsive and intuitive web-based applications
- Rapid Application Development (RAD) methods
