Biography
Craig Ramsay joined the Unit in 1995 as a Statistical Research Assistant. He graduated in Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Edinburgh in 1993. After receiving a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Systems from Napier University, he joined the Information and Statistics Division of the Common Services Agency. Since joining the Unit, he gained a PhD from the University of Aberdeen in 2000, and he has increased his responsibilities and advanced through various roles including Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow and Senior Statistician. He currently directs the Health Care Assessment (HCA) Programme within the Unit. This is primarily a large programme of evidence syntheses and rigorous health care assessments of non-drug interventions. He has wide ranging research interests in health services research with particular expertise in surgical trial evaluation, knowledge translation research and quasi-experimental study designs.
