What is Development?
Development is any activity which helps us be more effective and learn. Attending a formal training course is only one type of development, others include:
- Induction
- Learning on the job
- Shadowing a more experienced colleague
- Job exchange
- Reading a book or article
- Attending meetings
- Attending conferences and seminars
- Coaching
- Mentoring
- Participating in a learning set
- Further professional education (including postgraduate studies, degree courses etc)
